Nevada Highway Patrol said a minor crash turned into a road rage shooting on the freeway near downtown on Monday.

At about 11 a.m., a man driving a 2004 GMC Yukon was traveling southbound on I-15 north of the Charleston Boulevard exit, as was a 2017 Subaru Cross Trek, Trooper Josan Buratczuk said in a release. The GMC made an unsafe lane change and struck the Subaru, causing minor damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the Subaru, identified as 27-year-old Keith Walker, became aggressive and while the GMC was in front of him, he fired three shots from a .40 caliber handgun, striking the GMC. After the vehicles stopped, NHP said, the driver of the Subaru ordered the driver of the GMC to get out of the car and took his cell phone.
