Metro Police responded to the stabbing call just after 9:00 p.m. on the 5300 block of East Tropicana Avenue, near Boulder Highway. Callers told police a man, identified as Fuller, was actively stabbing a woman. They said the woman was outside on the ground, Fuller had her pinned down, was stabbing her and it appeared he was trying to kill her, according to police. At 9:15 p.m., a lone sergeant, identified as Cino, arrived at the scene. She saw Fuller on top of the woman, actively stabbing her.

Cino got out of her vehicle, gave several commands to Fuller to get off of the woman, police said. He stood up and got off of the woman. She asked him several times to drop the knife and he refused. He then walked towards Cino, who gave several commands to Fuller to drop the knife. He refused to listen and suddenly charged in her direction, still holding the knife in his hand. She fired two rounds, hitting him and he went to the ground, police said.
